Your past no longer exists. The only way it exists is in your thought about it NOW.
Ever told a story that seems to change over time? Or notice that each member of your family tells a different variation of the same story? That’s because it’s in the past and ONLY exists in your minds.
You can tell whatever story YOU want about the past.
For example, a person with a challenging past has many choices in how they think about their past. As a victim (poor me, I had a horrible childhood) OR as the hero (look at what I overcame!). Why not have thoughts that serve you?
I used to tell myself I was a victim of Type 1 Diabetes (T1D). Poor me. T1D happened to ME. Like it targeted me specifically.
Was that even true?
Did that thought serve me?
Did it do anything to HELP me?
Not even a little bit!
So why not come up with a new thought!
“My pain has turned into my superpower”
