I’ve told myself my whole life that I’m just not a pet person.
Then, I looked for evidence to convince myself that this story was absolutely true.
🔸I was terrified of my childhood dog Pepsi when he was a puppy
🔸I’ve never been that person who pets all the dogs walking down the street
🔸I looked at pictures of friends’ pets, but never 100% GOT the love exchanged between pet and owner, without having one of my own
So when friends would try to convince me to get a pet (and many have tried over the years!), I would always say, “nah, I’m just not a pet person.”
When finally, I decided I was ready to challenge that story and get a pet for myself.
Meet Graycie. She’s 2 years old, and a rescue from Kuwait.
She’s brought me SO much joy and unconditional love, there are no words.
She’s taught me how to:
❤️ Challenge the story that I’m not a pet person
❤️ Realize just how much love I have to give
❤️ Expand my capacity to receive love
❤️ Learn how to take care of someone other than myself
The more stories we challenge, the more new ones we can create, and the more people, pets, and experiences we can let into our lives. 💖
