Need an Umbrella? I got you.
This past weekend, we were back in person at the JDRF One Walk, in both Baltimore and DC! Saturday and Sunday were both awesome, celebrating lots of funds raised, seeing old friends, meeting new volunteers and families, and talking about T1D life coaching. Anyone in the DC area knows- the weather was NOT stellarĀ š©. Heavy rain (and mud!) on Saturday, and COLD and wind on Sunday.Ā Yet the weather did not stop the amazing T1D community from showing up. Dr. Argento, a very popular Endocrinologist, exclaimed at the Walk on Saturday, “you still have diabetes when it rains”. What a great point! And it got me thinkingā¦ Those of us living with T1D (whether you have it or live with someone who has it), we’re made from some seriously tough stuff. A little rain? That can’t stop us! A little wind? That can’t stop us! You still have diabetes when it rains. But on the flip side, it also means we never ever get a break. And it’s tough. It is not easy.Ā Ā It can often feel like you’re standing outside, in the rain, without an umbrella. If you’re struggling, and need a little shelter from the rain, I can help. |
