Have you ever felt restless or stressed and reached for a snack you didn’t even really want?
You’re not actually hungry. You’re just eating to get that restless, stressed feeling to stop.
I’ve done it too.
There’s a tool I use now that works far better than a snack. It’s called EFT tapping.
EFT, or Emotional Freedom Technique, is a stress-reduction tool that combines gentle tapping on specific acupressure points while acknowledging what you’re feeling. The tapping sends calming signals to your nervous system, shifting you out of stress.
The beauty of EFT is that it’s a simple tool with very powerful results. You tap on a few points while saying the truth of how you feel (“I feel anxious”, “I don’t want to snack”). And your body starts to calm.
It’s not forced positive thinking. It’s not pushing down your feelings. It’s not pretending everything is fine.
It’s allowing your emotions to process so your nervous system can calm down.
