After considering surgery for my shoulder, I’ve had a change of heart.
Upon reading some amazing comments on my Facebook post, a fellow life coach suggested that I consult with Betsy Jensen regarding healing chronic pain and the mind-body connection.
Initially, I was resistant to the idea that I was someone with “chronic pain”, but I kept myself open to all ideas before resorting to surgery. As I researched chronic pain and visited Betsy’s website, I came to some undeniable truths about the aches and pains I’ve experienced throughout my life (the list is long!).
I’ve always believed on some level there was a psychological/mind-body component to my many (many!) aches. (I once asked my PT if my knee problems were psychological, to which she chuckled and told me emphatically no). Even though I’ve tried various treatments, my shoulder (and other aches) has not healed. After talking to Betsy and reading the book The Way Out, I’ve come to appreciate a holistic approach to healing my chronic pain. Surgery is still an option, but I’d like to give this method a try first.
My heart is open to wherever this process takes me. Thank you for being part of my journey with me, and I’ll certainly keep you posted. 💗💗💗
If you’re interested in learning more about healing chronic pain, I highly recommend The Way Out by Alan Gordon. It absolutely blew my mind.
