Hey, I'm Lauren.

I'm a life coach, living with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) since 1979 and found my way out of food and alcohol addiction (sober since 2021). If you struggle with any of the above, I got you. I can help you out of pain and show you how to live an amazing life.

T1D parents, navigating a delicate balance

Parents of children with T1D have it hard.

You walk a very fine balance of making life as safe and easy as possible for your child with T1D, while not letting it overly impact the rest of your family, yet trying to keep yourself as sane as possible.

It may look something like this:

✨ You want to be easygoing but not too easy-going or your child could be in danger

✨ You want to be watchful of your child’s care but not too watchful or you become an unintended helicopter parent (unlike how you are with your other kids)

✨ You want to teach your child about the seriousness of the disease without scaring them too much

✨ You want to ask about their diabetes but not too often or they’ll shut down

✨ You want to let go of control but not too much, or you’ll never get it back

Walking this impossible tightrope is exhausting and incredibly stressful.

As an adult living with T1D for 44 years, I won’t pretend to fully understand the experience of parenting a child with T1D. However, I know what it’s like to BE that child with T1D. And I want to acknowledge that I see you. I hear you. And I appreciate you. 🙏🏼🙌🏼💗.

If you’re struggling with excessive worry, I can help you.
