T1D and the nervous system.
I’m studying the impacts of Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) on the nervous system.
This means how our bodies automatically react to certain triggers – like seeing double arrows down on your pump, seeing a “critical low” alert on your Dexcom, knowing you have 3 units of insulin on board in your body, or feeling really really low.
I’m beginning to really understand how our bodies enter survival mode once triggered, and how to reset for better Type 1 Diabetes management and a healthier happier life.
I do not believe this has been rigorously studied and taught. And it’s so VERY important.
That said – I’d appreciate your feedback! How do you react (feel, think, DO) when you see the double arrows down on your pump? (If you don’t have a pump- when you go low?) Email me at Lauren@LaurenRapaport.com!
