Growing up with T1D, I believed life was unfair, the world was against me, and I compared myself to everyone else with T1D. Hating everything about diabetes, I couldn’t understand why I struggled so much compared to other people. I would then beat myself up for having such negative thoughts and feelings about the world, myself, and other people.
Overall, I just assumed that suffering was a necessary part of having T1D. The plan was to get diagnosed and spend the rest of my life frustrated and angry over T1D. Period.
That’s the story I told myself over and over and over.
But I was wrong.
Suffering with T1D is completely optional.
Are you suffering? Are you mad about T1D all the damn time? Are you telling yourself the same story?
I can show you how to get out of it. There are 3 simple steps to get started.
💗 1. Know that it’s just a story. It’s NOT true. T1D suffering is optional.
💗 2. YOU have the power to take control of your thoughts and feelings over your experience with T1D. YOU have the power to not only feel better, but to thrive, and to live the life YOU choose to live.
💗 3. DECIDE if you are ready to start feeling better. Small incremental changes lead to big sweeping changes. The path to an amazing life starts with the decision that you want to make a change. It’s completely and totally up to YOU.
